good list!
i don't mean to be a "know it all" but i personally don't consider 28 days later to be a true zombie movie. i might be wrong but if i remember right the people in the movie are rabid due to a disease, opposed to being "the living dead"..............?

wel eric..

in (almost) all zombie movies all dead people come alive due to a virus.
in 28 days later the only thing different is that living people get infected with a virus.
but.. in other zombie movies living people change after an (small) bite of a "zombie" (the virus gets in their vains) but do those people die, or are they infected with te virus Wink ???

so in my oppinion 28 days later is a zombie movie it's just a little bit different..

Hey, Tre'...
While I can't agree with you on "28 days later", I'll partially agree with you on "Stacy"...as a farce, it works pretty well. It's really less a "zombie movie" than a film about how Japanese society treats its young women. So, on the level of "social commentary", I think it works pretty well. On the traditional "zombie flick" level, it fails rather miserably. However...credit where credit is due...I love the idea of having a specialty zombie-killing chainsaw thing called "Bruce Campbell's Right Hand". Funny stuff. If only the rest of the movie could have lived up to that little stroke of genius.

Anyway, I'll be adding my full review of "Stacy" in a couple of weeks.

Some nice choices, MutantX...

I usually wouldn't put "Demons" on a list of Zombie films, for the same reasons that I wouldn't put "Evil Dead" on that list (not really zombies, but demons inhabiting people). Still, for the purposes of this discussion, they fit in quite nicely.

Welcome to Atrocities Cinema.com, by the way. I'm Matt, the webmaster and owner...Cheers, and Tell your Friends!!!

Interesting to see Zombi 3 on your list. That one is usually pretty much forgotten. It's just so corny and over the top. By the way, you forgot to add Bruno Mattei to the list of directors on that particular movie. Smile

You can really tell a lot about a person by what kind of zombie flicks they like. The fact that you chose any given "Blind Dead" movie earns you instant kudos in my book. Jeebus, those movies are creepy.

I'm still terribly partial to Braindead (aka Dead Alive)...nothing tops it in terms of sheer wall-to-wall splatter. Peter Jackson, we miss ya! Come back!

1. Braindead (aka Dead Alive)
2. Zombie Flesheaters (aka Zombi 2)
3. The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue (aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie)
4. Dawn Of The Dead
5. Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetery Man)
6. Zombie Creeping Flesh (aka Night Of The Zombies, great UK title & a movie so bad its good)
7. City Of The Living Dead
8. Dr Butcher M.D. (aka Zombie Holocaust)
9. Shaun Of The Dead
10. Day Of The Dead

There are others but those spring to mind first.

Peace,
BB
