Outside of Fulci's "gore' period, I would have to say that Seven Notes in Black and Touch of Death are probably my favorites. And if you dig Westerns, Four of the Apocalypse is pretty damn good.

I swear to god I'm gonna do a Fulci retrospective. There are some movies that need to be revisited. I'll see if I can get an interview with his daughter, too.

Sounds like a good idea chief Smile

Sadly a lot of folk just think he did gross horror movies but he turned his hand to a good few genres.

Peace,

My favourite ones are probably The Beyond (first Fulci I saw) and City Of The Living Dead with Zombi 2 in a close third.

There's something really enjoyable about his films and I dont just been the gore. It's just his ability to create a lot on a small budjet and he sure as hell new how to set a pretty grim atmosphere.

I watched The Black Cat for the first time the other evening and rather enjoyed that as well. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

I think it's safe to say that we're all pretty much Fulci fanatics (at least "devotees"). The guy sure knew how to make a low-budget flick. BB's right, of course...Fulci's career transcended "genre", but I'll still love him best for his living dead films. Truly atmospheric and nasty, they were.
