Personally, I would love to see a proper sequel to Bill Lustig's MANIAC. Although Joe Spinell and Buddy Giovinazzo did create a promo (Spinell played a kid's show host that received letters from abused kids and exacts revenge on their abusive parents) entitled MANIAC 2: MR. ROBBIE, it was nowhere near a complete film...it only ran about 5 minutes or so. Spinell died of a heart attack soon after and a full length feature never came to be.

I always thought that Maniac was one of those classic stand out horror movies, just had the right scuzzy downbeat tone, great actin from Spinell, great effects (Savini has a part in it where he gets his head blown off with a shotgun) & of course the gorgeous Caroline Munro.... & also a great movie poster Smile

Peace,
BB

I love Maniac. For a loooooong time, even "hardcore splatter" fans kinda disavowed the film, mostly because of rumors that Savini had done so (untrue, by the way...he told me himself a few months ago).

Anyway, it's a damned fine horror flick. I love the score, to. That fretless bass stuff just works, ya know?

That's not a bad idea

Why don't you start a new topic, severed?
